Membership Examination in Veterinary Public Health

The Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) is pleased to announce the re-establishment of the Membership Subject: Membership in Veterinary Public Health

Membership of the ANZCVS is attained by examination and is the premiere benchmarking qualification for veterinarians throughout Australia and New Zealand. College Membership certifies a high level of competence and experience in a specific field. Attaining College Membership is a significant achievement that gives employers, clients and colleagues confidence in the quality of the Member’s veterinary expertise.

College Membership is growing; over 340 candidates registered for examinations in 2018 in fields as diverse as Small Animal Surgery, Small Animal Medicine, Medicine of Cats, Veterinary Radiology, Avian Health, Veterinary Behaviour, Epidemiology, Surgery of Horses, Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary Pharmacology and Medicine and Management of Laboratory Animals.

‘The Membership in Veterinary Public Health stream will be available from 2019,’ says ANZCVS Veterinary Public Health Chapter President Dr Bob Biddle. ‘This qualification will allow veterinarians to demonstrate competence across the breadth of VPH.’ Potential Membership candidates may currently work in VPH-related fields for governments, for international organisations, for industry or provide consultancy services. All should benefit from the recognition deriving from College membership.

In approving the re-establishment the Membership in Veterinary Public Health the ANZ College has demonstrated its support for this discipline.
