Josie graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2014, and began her career in mixed practice in Geelong before completing a one-year rotating internship at Agnes Banks Equine Clinic in 2016. Following her internship, Josie was awarded membership of the ANZCVS in Equine Surgery whilst working in private practice, at Tamworth Equine Veterinary Clinic. Josie spent two years working for Scone Equine Group before commencing a Residency in Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation at Charles Sturt University in 2018. During her residency, Josie also completed a Doctor of Veterinary Studies investigating factors that affect autologous conditioned serum concentration in the horse. Josie is currently working at The University of Queensland as she prepares to sit her specialty board examinations. She recently published in EVJ 'The effect of exercise on cytokine concentration in equine autologous conditioned serum'. Josie’s clinical interests include causes of poor performance in the equine athlete, lameness, and back pain. During her spare time, Josie is an avid reining competitor (seen here in action), enjoys spending time with her friends, family and pets as well as getting outdoors for a hike or a weekend away at the beach or snow. |
