Vetspecs - Internal Medicine Registrar or Specialist

Vetspecs in Christchurch, New Zealand have an opening for a recently qualified or experienced board-certified internist or registrar to work with our team of surgical specialists and highly trained veterinary nurses developing an internal medicine service for the South Island of New Zealand.

 

 

 

More about this position:

As our internal medicine specialist, you will be working closely with two experienced board-certified surgeons to further develop the capability of our multidisciplinary specialist referral centre. In this role, you will provide a specialist referral internal medicine service as well as supporting our specialist surgical team and consulting to our extensive general practice network across New Zealand. To enable you to deliver the highest standard of care you will be provided with a full diagnostic suite including in-house high spec endoscopy, laboratory and ultrasound as well as access to CT and MRI imaging with specialist radiologist support.

The role is a new position and we are looking to add to our team to be able to provide multidisciplinary care for patients across New Zealand. As it is new, it is flexible and whilst we forecast demand for a full-time position over 4 to 5 days per week, we can negotiate your hours and days of work. The Christchurch after-hours dedicated clinic is a part of our facility, allowing our patients to receive 24/7 care, with occasional support required as a professional obligation related to the care and management of our own caseload, where the need arises.

More about you!

To be successful in this role, it is important that you are either a registrar or a fellow and are working towards a qualification of are a qualified companion animal internal medicine specialist. It is important that you are eligible to be accepted by the ACVS, ECVS, or a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and that your qualification will be eligible for Specialist Registration with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand.
