Salary: Level A $73,669 - $99,964 p.a. or Level B $105,232 - $124,958 p.a. (pro rata for part time) plus 17% superannuation. Level of appointment is subject to qualification and experience.

About the Role
The Tutor/Lecturer (Critical Care) will provide quality clinical teaching, clinical services and undertake clinical research at the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Science’s Melbourne Veterinary School.
This position will provide practical clinical instruction, mentoring and teaching in Critical Care for small animals and will contribute to innovative teaching, learning and supervision of veterinary students. The role will actively engage with students to maximise their positive experiences. You’ll be encouraged to assist in developing student experience initiatives within the curriculum that contribute to a strong student cohort.
Reporting to the Service Head, the position will provide excellent Critical Care service to patients and clients, ensuring that Critical Care clinical services meet the standards of national and international accreditation bodies.
The position will also undertake research with the goal of achieving academic publication and completing project milestones and will be fully immersed in the research culture of the Faculty and University.
To be successful in this position, you will have an awarded veterinary degree registrable in Victoria, with relevant veterinary experience in a similar position, providing clinical teaching and research as well as veterinary clinical services in small animal Critical Care within a busy teaching veterinary hospital.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in providing veterinary clinical practice and managing a challenging and varied critical care caseload, including but not limited to medical treatment, performing minor surgical procedures, administering medication and general/local anesthetics commensurate with experience.
The incumbent will have proven experience in developing collaborative, applied research in the areas of critical care, and will actively seek collaborative opportunities within the Faculty, the wider University and external partners.
