Salary: Level C $128,903 - $148,630 p.a. or Level D $155,209 - $170,993 p.a. (pro rata for part time) plus 17% superannuation. Level of appointment is subject to qualification and experience.
An exciting opportunity is available for experienced and passionate veterinarians to join our small animal Critical Care team at the U-Vet Werribee Animal Hospital. The University of Melbourne’s U-Vet Werribee Animal Hospital is one of Australia’s leading veterinary hospital facilities based in Werribee. About the Role
The Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor (Critical Care) will provide leadership and foster excellence in teaching, clinical service and clinical research at the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences, Melbourne Veterinary School.
Working within the University’s teaching hospital, the U-Vet Werribee Animal Hospital, this position will provide specialist services in the discipline. Clinical teaching will occur during provision of high-quality Critical Care service at U-Vet. Clinical research will be integrated into and driven by the critical care caseload.
As a senior member of the Faculty, the incumbent will actively participate in leadership and service both within and outside the University and broader community and be an effective member of committees at the Department, School, Faculty and University levels. The position will also play a major role in developing teaching and research within the Melbourne Veterinary School, contributing to strategic and operational plans.
To be successful in this position, you will have an awarded Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences or equivalent degree registrable in Victoria with significant relevant experience in a similar position, providing clinical teaching and research as well as veterinary clinical services in small animal Critical Care within a busy teaching veterinary hospital.
This position requires the incumbent to be board certified or board eligible, suitable for or registered as a specialist such as: Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, or equivalent Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, or in the European College of Veterinary Surgeons.
The position requires the incumbent to have significant experience in undertaking original and independent teaching under a variety of settings. The incumbent will have attained recognition within the discipline as being influential, evidenced by a strong record of original, innovative research contributions and have strong experience in leading, managing and developing a team.
