Specialist in Small Animal Emergency & Critical Care

Melbourne Vic Australia

The Veterinary Referral Hospital (VRH) is looking for a Specialist in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care (ECC).

VRH is a multi-disciplinary referral hospital and 24/7 Emergency Centre in Melbourne’s South-East. We pride ourselves on being a patient focused practice and delivering treatment that has the patient’s best interest in mind. We also believe in a team approach to patient care, recognising that optimum patient care may require the involvement of more than one specialist.

Our team consists of ECC Clinicians and Nurses, 2 surgeons, 3 medicine clinicians, 3 neurologists, a radiologist, full time specialist anaesthetist and a Specialist Oncologist. We have recently moved into a purpose designed new hospital.  Imaging facilities include fluoroscopy, 16 slice CT and a 1.5T MRI, with dedicated radiographers.

The ideal candidate would be eligible to register as a specialist in Victoria. However, applicants that have completed their residency training are encouraged to apply. This position requires interaction with a large team of specialists, veterinarians and nurses. Good communications skills and an ability to work as a team are essential. A strong commitment to continued professional development is also desirable.

The position involves a 4-day working week. Work permit/visa sponsorship is available to the right candidate.

Melbourne is a thriving vibrant city offering all the benefits of a cosmopolitan culture capital, with the countryside, coast and mountains all within easy access.

To discuss the position further, feel free to contact Tony Christmas on tony.christmas@vrh247.com.au or Cameron Broome on cameron.broome@vrh247.com.au by email or phone 1300 385 874
