North Coast Veterinary Specialist is the only full multidisciplinary referral centre in the beautiful sunshine coast. With a brand-new purpose build hospital and 24/7 fully staffed emergency services opened in September 2020. We provide a complete range of clinical services including internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology and 24-hour emergency and critical care services. We have regular visiting dermatology and cardiology services.
The hospital has full in-house laboratory facilities, comprehensive diagnostic imaging including ultrasound, digital X-ray, endoscopy, Shimadzu C-arm fluoroscopy and a new 16 slice GE CT scanner. We have full range of arthroscopy and laparoscopic/thoracoscopic equipment. Synthes and striker drills, BFX hip kits, large range of surgical implants (Multiple locking plate systems including alps, BFX interlocking nails, IMEX ESF systems), Ligasure and TA/GIA staplers.

We have an exciting opportunity for a small animal specialist surgeon or residency completed surgeon.
The successful applicant will be required to be in-charge of our day to day referral surgical cases and provide the best care possible for each patient. Clinically be involved in supporting, training, and teaching the interns, residents, registrars, and our support staff. Active involvement in case transfers between departments and daily communication with all clinicians. We have a 24hr emergency services and clinicians will only deal with referred patients. You will have opportunities to actively participate in journal clubs, textbook chapter readings, daily case discussions and literature reviews.
This is a permanent position, but we are open to short term/part time opportunities being discussed.

Ideal applicant will have:
- Registered or eligibility to register as a surgical specialist or residency-trained or board eligible. Registration with ACVS, ECVS or ANZCVS qualifications required.
