The School of Veterinary Medicine forms part of the College of Science, Health, Engineering and Education (SHEE) and was the first in Australia to be built as a purpose-designed veterinary teaching and research facility. The school is responsible for the training of veterinary science graduates to enable lifelong professional success. The degree program has received international accreditation and a central part of the training is development of core clinical competencies. As part of this process veterinary science students undertake training in our hospital, clinics and clinical services.

The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University (TAHMU) is a modern teaching hospital with a range of specialists across multiple disciplines and a large, growing caseload.  State-of-the-art diagnostic equipment is available on-site and includes a 1.5T MRI and multi-slice CT, with a standing 160-slice CT and standing MRI commissioned and due to be installed by end of 2022.   

The Role

The School of Veterinary Medicine seeks an experienced Veterinary Radiologist academic at Senior Lecturer level to join the team.  The role fits a Clinical Professional Practice Scholar (‘clinical track’) profile with appropriate experience and qualifications, supporting a busy and active surgery and diagnostic (including referral) caseload.  As Senior Lecturer you will contribute to research in diagnostic imaging and support a referral service externally to the community of Western Australia.

Skills and Experience

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Veterinary degree registrable by the Veterinary Surgeons’ Board of Western Australia.
  • Board certification (e.g. FANZCVS, Dip ACVR or Dip ECVDI) to enable application for registration as a specialist with the Veterinary Surgeons’ Board of Western Australia.
  • Experience as a veterinary academic.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in innovative course and teaching program design.
