Rotating Internship

The Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) is part of the largest network of state-of-the-art Emergency, Specialist & Referral hospitals that are steered by a team of world-class vets, specialists & nurses. We offer a wide range of specialist services and provide 24-hour emergency and critical care through our facilities in NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD, and SA.

Commencing in January 2023, we are looking to offer a Veterinary Rotating Internship. This 12-18 month Internship in a truly multi-disciplinary referral hospital provides the opportunity for Veterinarians (both recent graduates and experienced) to advance your knowledge and gain skills in key aspects of the veterinary industry. For those wanting to specialise, this Rotating Internship is designed to expose interns to a range of specialist roles and in so doing assist in improved career choices.

Rotations Include:
Emergency and Critical Care l Imaging l Medicine l Oncology l Surgery

The internship is designed and overseen by our team of specialists and provides constant exposure to best practice veterinary care in a supportive, collegiate environment. You will also become a member of the burgeoning ARH family with a growing network throughout the industry.

Interns are scheduled to work a flexible roster based on the needs of each Department, which can include a mix of day and night shifts, weekend work and some public holidays. Working under supervision, there will be the opportunity to engage directly with the specialists. Journal reviews and the writing of papers will be encouraged and supported as part of further learning. Notwithstanding your previous experience, the internship is a genuine learning opportunity and as such you will not be expected to take primary responsibility for patients, aside from the rotations in ECC.

Our successful candidates will have access to:

  • Access to Continuing Education throughout your employment, including face-face learning options, e-learning and our symposium
  • Specialist mentorship in interesting and varied roles, providing the basis for an application for specialist internships or external residency positions
  • Access to a support network of like-minded professionals and a dynamic and supportive team environment.
  • Generous staff discounts at Greencross Vets and Petbarn
  • Consultation Coaching. We provide ongoing training sessions in the art of customer service and client communication.
  • Paid Parental Leave, flexible working arrangements and back-to-work programs.
  • Ability to travel and work throughout our network of GP and Emergency Clinics once you complete the internship
