Veterinary Specialist Services (VSS) is looking to expand our Internal Medicine Team. Positions are vacant at our hospitals at Jindalee, Carrara and Toowoomba. We are looking for a qualified internist (FANZCVS ,ECVIM, ACVIM ) or registrar to join our team. You must have a primary veterinary degree registrable in Australia and have completed or be close to sitting examinations that would allow specialist registration in Australia.

Veterinary Specialist Services is a multi-site, multi-disciplinary specialist and referral hospital group.  We provide referral services to veterinary practices from Northern NSW, Queensland and the NT. VSS was established in 2000 in Underwood, Brisbane and 2008 at Carrara on the Gold Coast. In 2017, VSS opened a third referral hospital in Jindalee, Brisbane’s western suburbs and since 2019 we have been providing referral services at Toowoomba.

Our hospitals are all purpose designed with state of the art facilities with dedicated ICU, CT, MRI, Video Endoscopy, Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy, providing a referral only service whilst working closely with an integrated 24-hour emergency service.


Veterinary Specialist Services aims to provide exceptional patient care through a team approach, industry leading service to clients and referring veterinarians as well as educational leadership for our fellow veterinarians. Veterinary Specialist Services has a team of over 57 veterinarians including specialists in small animal internal medicine, small animal surgery, feline medicine, canine medicine, cardiology, dentistry, ophthalmology, dermatology, emergency and critical care, medical oncology as well as full time animal physiotherapists. We maintain collaborative, modern hospitals with daily clinical rounds and regular journal club and textbook reviews.  

Veterinary Specialist Services is an eminent and inclusive referral hospital. We work alongside the Animal Emergency Services to provide 24-hour care 365 days a year. We have a high and varied caseload over our four sites (Underwood, Carrara, Jindalee and Toowoomba).


Veterinary Specialist Services is looking to expand the current Internal Medicine teams at the Carrara and Jindalee Hospitals and for an experienced person to help develop the newest hospital at Toowoomba.
