Emergency and Critical Care Veterinarians
Pet Emergency is seeking Emergency and Critical Care Veterinarians to join our team!
Pet Emergency is the emergency service associated with Queensland Veterinary Specialists since its establishment in 1982. The businesses are jointly owned and managed allowing our services to collaborate on case management and our clinicians to follow their cases through to completion.
Queensland Veterinary Specialists employs diplomats in internal medicine, surgery, critical care, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia, dentistry, theriogenology, cardiology and dermatology.
Our emergency and critical care clinicians enjoy a varied and exciting caseload with access to 24/7 support from our specialist team. We are the only veterinary hospital in Australia to achieve VECCS level III certification.
The business takes pride in producing the specialists of tomorrow and runs well established rotating and specialty internships, as well as residency training programs in small animal internal medicine, surgery and emergency and critical care. Consequently, we have robust didactic teaching programs established, that all our veterinarians are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Our emergency and critical care veterinarians receive a competitive remuneration package and have input into a roster designed to maximise work-life balance. To ensure our staff can rest and rejuvenate, we have structured systems in place to prevent overtime, which include, protected time on shift to complete notes and hospital vets to streamline your workflow.
Our successful candidate will have preferably two years’ minimum experience as a veterinarian and must have a veterinary degree that is registrable in Queensland. They will be an enthusiastic, passionate individual who can work efficiently and autonomously but loves practicing gold standard medicine in a team environment with facilities that boast all the bells and whistles. They would be expected to act as a clinical mentor to our rotating intern cohort.
This position is a perfect role for an experienced veterinarian wanting to prepare for membership examinations in Emergency and Critical Care or intending to apply for residency training programs in Emergency and Critical Care or our allied specialties. Equally, we are proud of our high staff retention rates and would love to employ a committed individual who wants to grow with our service.
Pet Emergency/QVS is in Brisbane and has 2 new purpose-built world-class hospitals in North Lakes and Stafford. Brisbane is blessed with a sunny sub-tropical climate which brings with it the most exciting emergency presentations (ticks, snakes, toads, toxicities, heat stress…). It is easily accessible to the beautiful beaches and hinterland of the Sunshine and Gold Coast. Interstate and international applicants are encouraged to apply but may be subject to State government quarantine regulations.
