Our expanding business needs a veterinarian with a passion for emergency medicine to join the highly skilled ER team at Adelaide Animal Emergency and Referral Centre - a very busy, 24-hour emergency and referral centre in the heart of Adelaide. The AAERC treats 9,000 emergency patients every year.

About Us
The Adelaide Animal Emergency and Referral Centre (AAERC), is a first-class facility, multi-disciplinary centre with extensive up-to-date equipment including a full in-house IDEXX lab, digital radiography, ultrasonography, fluoroscope and CT. We have a team of 65 veterinarians, nurses and support staff that work to deliver exceptional veterinary care to the pets of South Australia.

The Role
This exciting opportunity to work in ER offers a varied caseload shared among a committed team of emergency veterinarians.

Access to our specialists and referral Veterinarians in the fields of Medicine, Surgery, Radiology, Cardiology and Dentistry will enhance your work experience.

There is an excellent continuing education program to promote ongoing skill development, and ANZCVS college membership is encouraged.  Several team members have achieved membership of the college and can mentor candidates. Others have progressed to residency programs.

As is usual in an emergency centre work on weekends, night and public holidays is shared across the emergency team.

The position would be ideal for a Vet with some experience and a genuine interest in emergency and critical care.  However, recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

About You
This opportunity would suit an energetic individual who enjoys learning in a multi-disciplinary specialist hospital environment.

You have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills and have a passion for outcomes, patient care and excellent clinical service. You enjoy working as a team but also flourish individually. With a great sense of humour, flexible and positive attitude towards work, you'll fit in nicely with our culture. As this is a high performing team, you also exhibit the following skills and experience:

  • A keen interest and / or background in emergency medicine
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team
  • Ideally at least 1 years’ experience in veterinary practice
  • Flexible, adaptable and a positive ‘can do’ attitude!
  • Enjoys coming to work has a good sense of humour
