The University of Melbourne seeks an enthusiastic, motivated and team-focused Clinical Tutor (Veterinary Anaesthesia) to join our team in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences on a full-time basis at the Melbourne Veterinary School for a fixed term. This opportunity will see you working amongst esteemed academics and highly trained professionals at our newly refurbished, state-of-the-art U-Vet Werribee Animal Hospital.

The Clinical Veterinary Tutor in Anaesthesia will actively contribute to the clinical service delivery, teaching students through the delivery of theoretical and practical applications in the anaesthesia service of the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences teaching hospital, as an academic teaching specialist.
Reporting to the Service Head of Anaesthesia, the appointee will teach students, both veterinary and non-veterinary, in the areas of anaesthesia and analgesia, as is necessary for delivery of curriculum. Clinical teaching will occur during provision of a high-quality equine and small animal anaesthesia service.
• Enthusiastic to contribute to innovative teaching, learning, supervision and assessment of veterinary students via a variety of educational delivery methods.
• Provide academic tutoring and mentoring to veterinary students, leading by example.
• Motivated and encouraged to develop your expertise and scholarship contributing to course and subject material, student engagement, your professional development and the field’s disciplinary knowledge.
We are a busy service, with specialists from multiple fields of veterinary medicine (diagnostic imaging, ECC, surgery, oncology, clinical pathology, internal medicine, neurology, equine medicine and surgery) working alongside one another to provide exceptional patient care.
The position is located at the Werribee campus of the University of Melbourne with transit access via a short bus ride or walk from Hoppers Crossing station. On occasion some classes and other duties may require travel to the other campuses.
To ensure the University provides a safe environment for children, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check.
