About us

The Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) is a well-established group of specialist veterinary hospitals. We offer a wide range of specialist services and provide 24-hour emergency and critical care through our facilities in NSW, ACT, QLD, VIC and SA. The Animal Referral Hospital at Homebush is supported by a range of specialist services including internal medicine; surgery; oncology; ophthalmology; behavioural medicine; exotics and avian; diagnostic imaging; and emergency and critical care. Our team is supported by the latest equipment including in house diagnostic laboratory, radiography, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, digital endoscopy, ECG, CT, MRI and stereotactic radiation.

Due to our rapidly expanding organisation we now have an exciting opportunity for ambitious and dynamic individuals to take on a Medicine Internship commencing in May 2019. 

The role

You will work predominantly under the guidance and mentorship of our internal medicine specialists, as well as more broadly within our team of professional veterinarians and expert nursing staff. You will also have close involvement with our other departments. 

Interns are expected to participate in daily rounds, journal club meetings and case presentations. They will be encouraged to complete a published work during their internship and will be supported in the completion of ANZCVS medicine membership examination.

Previous ARH interns have continued on to residency positions worldwide. 

Requirements

Candidates must be eligible for veterinary registration at least in NSW, have at least 1-2 years of clinical experience, excellent communication skills and a strong knowledge base on which to build. The position includes 4 weeks annual leave and 1 week study leave.
