Welcome to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists web site. The Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) seeks to serve the veterinary profession and reward excellence. College Membership signifies that a veterinarian has expertise and competence in a nominated subject area. To become a member of the College a candidate must have at least four years post-graduate experience as a veterinarian and have successfully completed both written and oral/practical examinations in one of the diverse range of subjects on offer. College Fellowship is associated with scholarly and technical excellence in a particular subject. Standards required for training and examination in Fellowship subjects meet or exceed the prerequisites for registration as a Veterinary Specialist in Australia and/or New Zealand. Science Week is a highly successful three-day scientific meeting held at the same venue as the College oral/practical examinations and is a fantastic opportunity to attend cutting edge presentations covering a wide range of disciplines, and enjoy the collegial atmosphere engendered by College activities.
Science Week 2012 will once again be at the QT Gold Coast Hotel from 28 June to 30 June, 2012 The 2011 Science Week at the Gold Coast International Hotel was a huge success. A total of fourteen Chapters were involved in the 3 day scientific programme, which was attended by a total of 505 delegates - a record. There was a daily average of some 400 paticipants.
The ANZCVS is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our staff team and fill the newly created role of ‘Examinations Officer’. Your assistance with ‘spreading the word’ about this vacancy would be appreciated.
The Examinations Officer will have management responsibility for the College’s examination administration including preparation, delivery and review of the examinations. The individual will administer and manage a large diverse group of people; collate and present information, respond promptly and efficiently, communicate effectively and call and coordinate meetings as required.
